02 Frequently Asked

The questions we get every week.

What is included in the price of a charter?
Your licenses, bait and tackle are all included in the charter price. Rods and reels are provided, but if you have a favorite rod and reel you would like to use, you are welcome to bring it along.
What is not included?
A tip for the deckhand (18%–20%) and fish cleaning ($0.30 a pound) are not included in the charter price. We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, Venmo and checks.
How many people can come along?
Both the Rip Tide and Rip Current hold up to 17 guests. Charter prices cover a set number of people — 6 or 8 depending on the trip — and each additional person is 10% of the charter price. Both boats can accommodate large groups, so give us a call at 251-543-6291 for larger group pricing.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel your booking with 30 or more days’ notice before your scheduled arrival date, you are entitled to a full refund of your deposit.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, soft-soled shoes, and any food or drinks you would like for the day. Bring an ice chest or cooler for food, drinks and your cleaned fish.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Your required fishing licenses are provided as part of the charter.
What will we catch?
We specialize in Red Snapper, Grouper, Trigger fish, Vermillion Snapper and Amberjack. Trolling is also available for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Red fish, Wahoo and Tuna. If it swims and will bite a hook, we can catch it.
Which trip length should we book?
Shorter 3 and 4 hour near-shore trips are a good fit for families with young kids or anyone who is unsure about open water. Six and eight hour trips reach the bottom structure where the snapper and grouper live. Ten and twelve hour trips get you out to the deeper spots for the best shot at a mixed bag.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely — family fun is what we do. Both boats have air-conditioned cabins with plenty of seating, and the Rip Current has an onboard bathroom, which makes a real difference on a longer day with children aboard.
Do you run year-round?
Yes. Both boats operate year-round out of Zeke’s Landing Marina in Orange Beach. Call us at 251-981-1500 or 251-543-6291 for weekly and seasonal specials.
Where do we meet you?
At Zeke’s Landing Marina, 26619 Perdido Beach Blvd, Orange Beach, AL 36561. The marina is one mile west of Perdido Pass Bridge and about 10 minutes by water from the Gulf of America.
What happens if the weather turns?
Safety comes first. If the captain determines that conditions are unsafe, we will work with you to reschedule. Give us a call the day before your trip and we will give you an honest read on the forecast.

The boat is ready. The Gulf is waiting.
